JS Xero Fusion Swallow Tail PU Surfboard
Description
JS Xero Fusion PU Surfboard
The JS Xero Fusion PU is a user-friendly high-performance 'Step Down' for small to average waves, built to keep its speed on flatter, weaker faces without losing the feel of a proper performance board.
The Xero Fusion sits between the Sub Xero and the Xero Gravity in the JS range. It’s a modern evolution of the Blak Box 3, built to be ridden in the same dimensions. It keeps that board’s proven rocker and adds updated outline curves, modern rail shapes and a narrower swallow tail. This PU version is shaped and made in Australia, with the lively, dependable feel surfers look for in polyurethane.
Why surfers choose the JS Xero Fusion
- Speed through flat sections: The low to flat Blak Box rocker generates instant acceleration and glides through dead spots in the wave.
- Performance when it counts: There’s still enough curve to push and turn hard in the pocket.
- Volume where you need it: Medium full rails carry extra foam through the rail line to help you through fat sections and chop, while staying precise on rail when a section steepens.
- Extra lift and drive: The Xero Fusion concave runs from a single concave under the front foot into a double concave between the fins, then flattens out toward the nose and tail. JS found this the fastest concave layout because it maximises water flow.
- Easy to read in weaker surf: The narrower swallow tail and updated outline add glide and a forgiving feel in softer waves.
- Built for everyday use: All sizes come with hybrid fibre tail strips, and PU boards have a wooden stringer finish as standard.
Best conditions and who it suits
The Xero Fusion is designed for small to average waves with flatter faces. It suits surfers of most ability levels who want a performance shape that’s easier and faster than a standard shortboard when the surf is soft. If you’ve been riding a Blak Box, it will feel familiar. If you’re after something fuller and better suited to very small surf, check out the Sub Xero.
How to size your JS Xero Fusion
Because it’s designed to be ridden in the same dimensions as the Blak Box 3, many surfers keep their usual length and volume. For reference, JS team rider Ryan Callinan (6'0", 80 kg) rides a 5'9" x 19 5/8" x 2 3/8" at 29 litres. If you’re between sizes, call us on 02 6685 8861 / message the Boards in the Bay team and we’ll help you pick the right volume for your weight, ability and local waves.
